I forgot about the time change this morning. Almost two hours late in posting (we’re on mountain time here)! Yikes! I\u2019m riding on the wave of blessing as my Austin family and I enjoy a week of R & R in Cabo San Lucas. This is a place, for years, where ideas flowed, hard work ensued and celebrations of dreams coming true took place. Just a few days after my precious husband was promoted to heaven, I was blessed to come here with them. It was a healing place for me as I sat amid the ginormous rocks and boulder formations, watching the sun rise each morning. Indeed, I was singing \u201cHe hides my soul in the clefts of the rock \/ that shadows a dry, thirsty land \/ He hides my life in the depths of His love \/ And covers me there with his hand\u201d. I sensed my sweetheart\u2019s presence and God\u2019s presence here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still like to think my sweetheart\u2019s prayers from the other side of heaven have something to do with God\u2019s favor on my children. After all, if he prayed for us all here on earth, how much more effective are his prayers when he is so near to God\u2019s throne in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week is a celebration of gigantic proportions because our son, Ryan, and so much credit to his beloved wife Shawntel, saw them get another big exit (win) as they recently sold their company, Dosh. It\u2019s now been multiple companies that they\u2019ve created from an idea to values of over $1B. I had a front row seat from day one. My husband and I prayed him through illnesses as a baby, guided him through his adolescent years as he\u2019s always had a never-ending drive to do more which at times felt like having the reigns of a bucking bronco, watching him celebrate ups and overcome downs as an adult, and witness the big wins that came from determination, scars, relentless passion and acting on the ideas, creativity and witty inventions that God gave him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lest I sound braggadocious, I must give credit where credit is due. It is a \u201cTo God be the glory\u201d testimony for sure. All of us in this family realize where our blessings come from. If there be any praise, may it go to God. I love the Andrae Crouch song that goes like this: \u201cHow can I say thanks \/ for the things You have done for me? \/ Things so undeserved \/ Yet You gave to prove Your love for me \/ The voices of a million angels \/ Could not express my gratitude \/ All that I am and ever hope to be \/ I owe it all to Thee \/ To God be the glory \/ For the things He has done \/ With His blood \/ He has saved me \/ With His power \/ He has raised me \/ To God be the glory \/ for the things He has done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our children\u2019s wins are our wins, too. We invested into their lives with every sleepless night, every lost tooth, every bump, and bruise. We cradled them through their miseries and cheered and championed them in their achievements. But, most of all we trained them up in the ways of the Lord, Who promises us His blessings as we \u201cseek Him with all our hearts and minds and show them how to love our neighbors as ourselves.\u201d When we give our children the blueprint for success that starts with trusting in our Holy God, we give them a pattern for success. I know I continue to be on my soapbox as I encourage parents to invest in their kids. No other asset we have gives such unsurpassed rewards \u2013 for them AND us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
