I know it\u2019s here, somewhere, but where? I misplaced my phone AGAIN! I\u2019ve been so tempted to get a landline just so it would help me find my phone. When I lived in Frisco, I went over to a neighbor\u2019s and asked them to call me so I could hear my phone ringing. I know my iPhone has a locater ability, but the app just shows it\u2019s in my home somewhere. Such was my conundrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then, I hear a little voice telling me the answer to another question. I\u2019m not talking about God in this instance. I love smooth jazz so I said: \u201cAlexa, who is a good smooth jazz instrumentalist?\u201d She gives me the answer and THEN, she adds: \u201cIf you\u2019d like me to help you find your phone, just ask!\u201d WHAT? I\u2019ve had an Amazon Alexa for how long and I\u2019ve been looking for my phone from time to time for how long? It was within my voice\u2019s reach all along. And, it is an easy-to-hear bell chime that leads me right to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When my sweet Mom was still here, I made it a habit to check on her every day. I\u2019d call her or go by to see her, and if I couldn\u2019t find her, I\u2019d check with her neighbors. Mom was a gad-about in her Senior Living apartment complex \u2014 in and out of neighbors\u2019 apartments. She was loved by everyone, and usually if I called one of those neighbors, she was there, or they knew where she was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Jeremiah 33:4, God said these words to Jeremiah: “Call to Me and I will answer You.” Those words are not just a TV ad or someone\u2019s assurance they\u2019ll always be there for you, but it IS a sure way to find God. What a blessing it is that God is so much easier to find than we are and our phones are. I\u2019m thrilled that finding Him isn\u2019t a matter of a phone call, text message or Facebook. He\u2019s with us right HERE, right now, and, if we\u2019ll take the time to listen for His sweet, tender, and loving voice, He\u2019ll even let us know He\u2019s right HERE, right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I like to think that it was Him watching me “on the hunt” and getting anxious when I couldn\u2019t find my phone. But then, just for me — well that’s highly unlikely, but I like to think that Dad watching over me and because He loves me so much that He placed the idea into the creators of Alexa to help me find my phone.
