It was a busy weekend and few days in Tulsa last week and weekend. Then I knew a busy weekend was in store when my family were all coming in for Mother\u2019s Day weekend. I was amped up with excitement \u2013 unpacking, baking, getting Mother\u2019s Day gifts and love notes for my girls, and shopping when my East Texas Wallace crew arrived \u2013 a goal we accomplished quite well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then yesterday, it was heaven on earth for us all to be together in church, followed by a drive to Driftwood where we were treated to par excellence food and family time together. The big finale was driving and riding golf carts throughout the gorgeous new Driftwood with nearby vineyards, water features, and stopping at several comfort stations for yummy snacks and drinks.

This momma felt blessed beyond measure. Thank you, God, for the blessings of family. And speaking of family, we have a new family addition. Payton and Aleah (his girlfriend), now have a new Persian\/Himalayan kitten that has stolen my heart. My grand-kitten. What a cutie!

The weekend was everything I had hoped it would be! Whew! Now I\u2019m ready for an \u201cintermission\u201d aka halftime, break, recess, pause, rest, respite, lull, stop, halt, hiatus. In my quiet space in Austin, my life is a sweet place of personal choices \u2013 except for assisting my children with occasional child duties. I don\u2019t like the word \u201cduty\u201d because it sounds like an obligation, which it isn\u2019t. I love my grands so much and hanging out with them keeps me spry!

Most of my days, and what they hold, are personal choices. Will I go there today? Will I do that today? Do I want to make it a day of me-time to write blogs, go shopping, work out in the fitness room, visit or go to lunch with a friend, or a day of spending alone time with God \u2013 digging into His Word for more clarity and peace of mind? Or do I want to stay in and chill, watch a good movie, read a good book or make it a clean and clear out clutter day? It\u2019s my choice! Sweet season of life!

Do my fellow baby boomers remember INTERMISSION at an outdoor drive-in theater? We drove our car into an open spot, clip on the speaker to our car window and watch a movie from our car. There was always an intermission when we could visit the restrooms or get a snack or just to simply have a good stretch. Today we can stay in our home theaters in our recliners.

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m thankful for this season of life when I can designate \u201cintermission\u201d at any point in my days. I love schedules and I also love “winging” it when I just run with the wind. That\u2019s when I trust that my steps are ordered of the Lord (Psalm 37:23). In those times, He gives me some of the most precious moments. I felt it big time yesterday.

Intermission sounds like a come-to-a-halt from the main show. But I\u2019ve determined that the \u201cmain show\u201d is living each day with gusto fully determined to \u201cTrust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding. In all our ways, if we acknowledge Him right in the middle (even the intermission), He will direct our paths!\u201d (Proverbs 3:5,6)

We do the best we can in the main show AND in intermission! And, when the time comes to take an INTERMISSION to gain strength for our next assignments or adventures, we\u2019ll be there with bells on and hearts open wide to pour on the love to everyone we can!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
