Day 204 of Photo Inspiration — Are We Going To Church?
\nThose were words from my youngest grandson yesterday.  This was a full and busy weekend as Shawntel and I were in Yakima, WA with our two youngest boys, Brennan & Bryson, for a baseball tournament.  It was such a fun-filled, exciting and busy weekend from start to finish.  In the afternoon, after our last baseball game, Bryson (our youngest — age 8) asked, “Are we going to church?”  The first thought was it would be too late by the time we get home — not to mention we were pretty weary.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n

But the more we thought about that question from an innocent, impressionable boy, the more we wanted to get home so we could attend church.  How could we choose anything more important than going to God’s house to worship and praise Him — to thank Him for the greatest gift of His son for us?  Never do we want to be guilty of putting ANYTHING ahead of God.  “You shall have no other gods before me.”  Exodus 20:3. I think that He must have included the gods of athletics, of TV, of work, of ANYTHING that supercedes the LORD, our GOD!  Bryson schooled us and reminded us that it was HE Who made this day and it is HE who should get first place in everything. <\/p>\n

We made it home just in time to quickly change our clothes and head to church.  The grown-ups were blessed and inspired by the faith-building words we heard — just what we needed in starting a new week that could be filled with all kinds of challenges and surprises that those words could give us the ammo we need to conquer and come out on top.  And, after church, I loved it when we went to get Bryson from his Kids’ Church that eventually breaks into small groups during the service.  When we got there, Bryson was in the circle with his leader.  They were so “all in” listening to him as he encouraged them to love God with all their hearts, and to obey Him.  <\/p>\n

Bryson is such a precious, sweet and extremely clever boy who draws everyone into his world.  He is so full of life and exudes such joy.  He’s not big in stature, but I love what he says:  “I’m little, but I’m mighty”.  Those are words that hold true in every area of  his life.  He will, no doubt, be a MIGHTY MAN of valor as he continues to grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.  He’s already doing that today.  He’s already a leader worth following — so much so — we followed him to church.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
