Day 199 of Photo Inspirations — Courage, Kindness, Friendship & Loyalty Go A Long Way
\nI don\u2019t watch movies with violence, immorality or crude language in them.  Quite frankly, I do my best to keep my mind in a place of serenity, joy, morality and sweetness.  I know that’s an ooey gooey girly mindset, but having this mindset has served me well.  I don\u2019t have nightmares.  I am adamant about \u201cHim I will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon me.\u201d  Isaiah 26:3  Horror flicks, watching immorality and listening to profanity subjects me to an unhappy place. I know that sounds like goody-two-shoes but what a sweet place to be.

\nFlying to Seattle, a movie option was the new Cinderella movie. Of course I watched it. It didn\u2019t depart far from the original Grimms\u2019 Fairy Tale, which has always been one of my favorites.  \u201cCinderella\u201d is heavy on moral lessons.  Throughout the movie, Cinderella would not only repeat her mother\u2019s parting words, but she lived them:  \u201cHave courage and be kind.\u201d This version of “Cinderella” doesn’t show her as just a weak girl, but one who does what she has to do for peace.  She doesn\u2019t complain or whine, but she dreams of a new day and a new life.  Of course the handsome prince is her knight in shining armor and her dreams for a better life come true.  Most of all, the film gives inspiring lessons about the values of courage and kindness.

Yesterday, we saw the new Minions Movie.  This was the first Minions Movie that I’ve seen.  It’s quite bizarre how these little guys are so popular EVERYWHERE.  You can’t understand much of what they say, but one thing’s for sure, they know about triendship and loyalty.  And that seems to be two of the most solid minion traits, and their traits most certainly are worth taking note of.   The minions look out for each other, like true friends should.  The lesson for us is:  If a friend is put down in front of everyone, cheer them back up again with a pat on the back. A bit of love always helps.  And, they treat scary situations like an adventure — which makes it way more fun.<\/p>\n

I loved the positive values in each of these movies.  In the \u201cCinderella\u201d movie, being courageous in the middle of rejection, abuse, and pain speaks volumes about standing strong in spite of adversity.  And, rather than returning evil for evil, return kindness.  Jesus spoke about that:  1 Peter 3:9 \u201cDo not repay evil with evil or insult with insult.  On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.\u201d <\/p>\n

With the Minions, we find the values of friendship and loyalty\u2026..be the friend that you want to have in your life.”A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”  Proverbs 12:12<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
