At the family center where I volunteer two days a week, I often help people at our eye glasses counter. The glasses are under glass. We have great, all strengths and styles of glasses at bargain prices. I get amused as people will wince when they can\u2019t see through them or give a happy sigh when they find ones that suit them perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can imagine how wonderful it must be for those who can\u2019t afford a trip to an optician for an exam and\/or go to LensCrafters or other retail outlet to get a pair of readers or other glasses that help them see better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, I\u2019m going somewhere with this blog! I was intrigued when I saw an internet quiz that offers us to find out if we are an idealist, realist, or surrealist. It is based on the color selections we make throughout the quiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am not, in any way, validating the merits of this quiz, but it \u201cnailed it\u201d from my selections. I don\u2019t think I was born with these qualities, but I obviously developed them and have BECOME them. And, quite frankly, I\u2019m very pleased to own up to them. Here are the results of that quiz:<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cBased on your perception of colors, you are the ideal idealist. The world in your eyes is a magical place filled with goodness, hope and beauty. Your optimistic attitude allows you to see the best in people and to have a lighter perspective on life. You truly believe that all people are born with goodness inside of their hearts and that through compassion, communicating and understanding, the world can be a better place. You don\u2019t see the world from a black and white perspective. You empathize with people and appreciate the beauty in our differences. You are always noticing the symbolic meanings hidden in everyday things (THAT ONE nailed it \u2013 thus, my daily blogs and photos — LOL!) and noticing light around you even when others see darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesiree! I own up to every one of those qualities. In fact, I’ve been accused of wearing rose-colored glasses (Webster’s definition: “An optimistic perception of something; seeing something in a positive way, often thinking of it as better than it actually is.”) and I’ve had no regrets doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n

Each day we have an opportunity to wear “glasses” that show us every reason to accept feelings of fear, despair, anxiety, weariness, sadness, worry, doubt, and unbelief. But, for goodness sakes, why wear those negative glasses that only see gloom and doom? Why be irritable, in a bad mood, cranky, and having a bad day right from the start — especially when the blessings in our lives FAR outweigh the “stuff” going on in our lives?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we “instantly” turn the negative thoughts into thanksgiving for the blessings in our lives, those blessings will start to multiply. It’s just God’s way! “For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous……” Psalm 5:12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think I’ll slip on my rose-colored glasses and start counting my blessings RIGHT NOW!! By the way, YOU are among my sweetest blessings and I love you so much!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
