My best wishes to the Jewish community today, especially to my dear friend, Susan Finkelman, as Yom Kippur (also known as “The Day of Atonement”) is celebrated. This is the most solemn and important of the Jewish holy days when we\u2019re reminded of humanity\u2019s timeless struggle for peace and justice in a world in need of redemption. May we never lose hope in the ultimate goodness of God, and may we always seek His unearned mercy and grace. It is amazing that He miraculously and freely gives to those who ask and accept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My friendship with Susan gives me a renewed passion to \u201cpray for the peace of Jerusalem\u201d and the Jewish people (Psalm 122:6). And I am more convinced than ever that our nation must have a moral and spiritual awakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
