Sunday night I remembered I needed to buy a clear, plastic bag\/purse for an upcoming event we\u2019ll be attending this week. I needed the purse rushed to me as we are leaving town today. Amazon kept their one-day-delivery promise. It was worth the wait! I barely had to wait at all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Waiting Game is the game we often play. So, for those of us who must wait \u2013 for whoever or whatever it is, we may want to buy a “Worth the Wait\u201d necklace. I saw it advertised in a Black Friday sale yesterday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is what the \u201cWorth the Wait\u201d necklace description said. It is worth reading the wisdom-filled words even if you\u2019re not interested in the necklace:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease know that you are not behind in life. There is no set timeline for self-discovery. Maybe you haven\u2019t found your dream job \u2014 the type of job that excites you, that moves you. Maybe you\u2019re still trying to figure out your passion \u2014 what fills your life with purpose. Maybe you haven\u2019t found the right person to share your soul with. Maybe you\u2019re trying to figure out how to love yourself before you love someone else. Maybe you haven\u2019t purchased a house yet. Maybe you\u2019ve discovered a home in other things like people, adventures, and experiences. One day you will have it all figured out, but please understand that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Do not change your journey to match someone else\u2019s. Do not rush into something that\u2019s not right for you in fear of falling behind. You are not falling behind. You are falling into your journey. You are falling into your life \u2014 you are falling into the person you are meant to be. So, breathe \u2014 trust the process and remember all good things take time. You will get where you want to be, and when you do, you\u2019ll be glad you took your time. The best things in life are worth the wait.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wow! I wish those had been my words \u2013 because those words hit the proverbial \u201cnail on the head\u201d! Since we do a lot of waiting — like waiting on a traffic light — what seems forever! Waiting in what we thought was the fastest line at the grocery store — only to realize THAT was the slowest line. Lines at the airport, stores, theater lines, gas station lines, bank lines and even waiting in a telephone call queue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So why should it be any different when we’re waiting on God? There is a huge difference in waiting on God because His is ALWAYS perfect timing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He promised in Isaiah 40:31 “Those who WAIT for the LORD will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weary.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And, in Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.” Since that is God\u2019s mode of operation, we might as well buckle up for the ride that comes with God\u2019s \u201csatisfaction guaranteed\u201d policy.
