Though the love is no stronger for any of my six grandchildren from the other, there is still &#8220;something&#8221; about the FIRST. Yes, I carried a photo album with me \u2013 no cell phones with cameras and photos in 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I fell in love just like all those grandparents from the beginning of time. We helped care for this little guy. And, in that care, we wanted him to know how much we loved him. Our Braden was always on our minds. I prayed for him as I held him in my arms. We witnessed many of his &#8220;firsts&#8221;. We worked diligently to help him take his first steps and he did. We prayed for his protection, his wisdom and his God-given destiny in life, and that he would always know God&#8217;s love for him.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Nana-Dance-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19127\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.5625;width:330px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Nana-Dance-4.jpg 540w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Nana-Dance-4-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over these 31 years I have still desired to be a godly influence in his life. I\u2019ve seen with \u201cnew eyes\u201d a passage of Scripture that I had read many times. In fact, it started with seeing the significance of a single little word: \u201cand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"626\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Business-Man.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19128\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5335463258785942;width:616px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Business-Man.jpg 960w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Business-Man-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Business-Man-768x501.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realized I have a specific purpose of fulfilling the command that followed the \u201cand.\u201d In Deuteronomy 4, the Israelites are told to \u201ckeep the commandments of the LORD your God\u201d (verse two). Then verse nine says, \u201cTeach them to your children AND your grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I saw that little word \u201cand&#8221;, I realized that I\/we are responsible to teach two generations, not just one. Once our grandchildren reach a certain age, I realize I can\u2019t just spoil them or dote on them or be a secondary caregiver. But no matter their ages and how much time I get with each one of my grands, I can still be a spiritual influencer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In God\u2019s Word, grandparents\u2019 active role is to pass on God\u2019s Word from \u201cgeneration to generation\u201d. But how can I? How can I influence my grands when I am rarely with them? Here is one way that I ensure my grands know that their Nana is thinking about them, praying for them and believing God\u2019s blessings are outpoured on them. I send all six of them (as a group) a daily, early-morning, text message. It\u2019s typically short and to the point, but it packs a punch.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Body-Builder.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19130\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Body-Builder.jpg 512w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Braden-Body-Builder-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I desire, through my prayers, to show them Jesus, stir up their love for Him, His favor on them and their life of abundance in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to my beloved #1 grandson, Braden. I will forever thank God for him. I know God\u2019s hands are on him. Braden and all my grandchildren and yours, too, are HERE on purpose &#8212; God\u2019s purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, rather than being an overbearing grandmother, I choose to believe my precious grandson, Braden, and all my grands will fulfill every part of God\u2019s plan for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My Braden is a treasured gift to me, and to this world. He is a man marked for blessings.
