Yesterday, the idea of \u201clow places\u201d got me thinking. What kind of life are we really signing up for when we surround ourselves with negativity, bitterness, and a sense of hopelessness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hanging out in the pits of despair might offer temporary comfort, but it\u2019s far from the life God intends for us. Why settle for the low when we can rise to the heights?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, don’t get me wrong — Jesus spent a lot of time with people in low places. But here\u2019s the key: He didn\u2019t stay there. He didn\u2019t wallow in darkness and defeat with them. Instead, He reached into their low moments to pull them up, offering them a life of dignity and purpose — a life in high places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Think about it: The Creator of the universe wants to be our friend! Jesus made this clear when He said to His disciples, \u201cI no longer call you servants… I have called you friends.\u201d (John 15:15)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This isn\u2019t just about following orders; it\u2019s about having an open, intimate relationship with God. As friends of Jesus, we\u2019re given the privilege of hearing directly from Him, understanding God\u2019s will and His plans for our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What an incredible offer! Jesus says to us, \u201cLet\u2019s be friends.\u201d He\u2019s inviting us to walk with Him, to talk with Him, and to choose a life filled with joy, peace, and love. So why would we ever choose the low road of worry, anxiety, and fear when we\u2019re called to live in the high places?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, my prayer is simple: \u201cLord, take me to higher and higher places!\u201d And, that’s what this photo of my cousin, Myra Lewis, and me represents in the physical in New Mexico! Yes!
