We live in an “out loud” generation, don\u2019t we? For those of us who thrive on social media, silence isn\u2019t exactly our strong suit! Now that Christmas has wrapped up, I still find myself lingering in the awe of the most extraordinary birth EVER.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mary? She was the quiet type. She didn\u2019t post about baby Jesus\u2019 first steps or angel sightings. But thankfully, Dr. Luke must have sat down with her because his gospel gives us a front-row seat to miracle upon miracles. And yet, even Luke\u2019s account is brief — barely a paragraph compared to my daily blog posts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m amazed by Mary\u2019s ability to savor those moments in silence. Luke 2:19 tells us, \u201cMary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.\u201d Meanwhile, here I am, typing away and broadcasting life\u2019s latest happenings for all to see. If Mary treasured quietly, I treasure loudly — boldly, and in full color!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the thing — how do we make Jesus famous if we keep Him to ourselves? Sure, there are sacred moments when we simply sit in His presence, but the world needs bearers of \u201cJoy to the World\u201d as much today as it did 2,000 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s a time for \u201cSilent Night,\u201d but there\u2019s also a time to \u201cGo Tell It on the Mountains \u2013 or better yet \u2013 let\u2019s tell it on our social media platforms, on the news and everywhere there are people who need a Savior!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I imagine Mary and I would make quite the duo — her treasuring in quiet, and me daily shouting from blog feed. Maybe, just maybe, I\u2019m carrying her voice into the digital age. Together, we\u2019re making her Son known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus Himself wasn\u2019t one to stay silent. He taught his disciples; he taught the multitudes. So, if Jesus was bold, why wouldn\u2019t we be?
Let\u2019s use every tool, every post, every platform to make Him famous. Let\u2019s purpose to step out and let the world see His light through us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
