Here it is the end of 2010 \u2013 New Year\u2019s Eve! This is the first time in 44 years I\u2019m not spending it with my Honey\u2026..another one of our sacred and sweet traditions\u2026..we just had to be hugging and kissing when the stroke of midnight came that took us into the new year!<\/p>\n

Last year was very special for us! We shared it with our dear friends Charles (Mick) and Sheila Michie. We had delicious snacks and then, as the midnight hour approached, Mick picked up his guitar and began to lead the four of us in praise and worship, thanking God for the old, and celebrating the new year that was before us. We all agreed on our 2010 slogan. It would be \u201cBreakthrough again\u2026.in 2010\u201d. We were thinking\u2026financially, spiritually, and every other way that God would pour out on us! We were expectant!<\/p>\n

This year is entirely different, as I have my four youngest grandchildren spending the night with me. Our snacks are their favorite: chocolate shakes and popcorn! We\u2019re just getting ready to snuggle down in Nana\u2019s room (all five of us are sharing the room tonight) and watch one of their \u201cchosen\u201d movies. While they were in the den having some quiet time earlier, I snuck off to my bedroom for a few quiet moments, and then I reminisced about all the years I\u2019d shared with my Honey. Our 35th wedding anniversary was a highlight. We went to San Diego and said our vows again to each other in a beautiful ceremony there. That night we stood out on the balcony of our hotel and watched fireworks in the harbor as the new year came in. What a precious memory to hold onto! <\/p>\n

As I was continuing my thoughts down memory lane, I thought I\u2019d call Sheila and reminisce last year\u2019s sweet time with her. She let me cry on her shoulder as I was having one of \u201cthose\u201d moments. Then we had comic relief as we both agreed, we\u2019d be more specific with our slogans this year. When we said \u201cbreakthrough again in 2010\u201d \u2013 we weren\u2019t exactly planning on the ultimate breakthrough that Ron got. So, thinking about this year, we were wanting to be a bit more specific. We weren\u2019t really wanting to say\u2026 \u201cHeaven in 2011\u201d \u2013 not that it wouldn\u2019t be a great thing, just maybe we won\u2019t call it to pass like we did last year. Then\u2026..it came to us both, the Lord\u2019s Prayer\u2026the perfect prayer says \u201cThy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!\u201d That\u2019s what our slogan will be this year, \u201cON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN\u2026.IN 2011\u201d. Yes, that\u2019s what we\u2019ll declare\u2026..purposing to be in God\u2019s will this year in everything we say and do \u2013 that will be this year\u2019s resolution!<\/p>\n

It was just as we had that sweet and gentle message from God, that bursting through my bedroom door were four beaming, exciting kids shouting, \u201cNana, we\u2019re ready for our shakes and popcorn now!!!\u201d Oh, sweet reality, sweet blessings, and \u2026\u2026enjoying this little bit of heaven on earth. Yes, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN \u2026in 2011!<\/p>\n
