The last couple of days, we have been in Carl’s hometown, Lubbock, TX where we kicked off New Year’s Eve with dear friends, then danced to our nephew’s band, and ended the night in prayer and thanksgiving for 2024, and now excited to see what 2025 will hold for us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Year’s Day brought more family time in Lubbock! We met with Carl’s siblings who are making plans for the annual Noble Family Reunion in June. I’m still learning who everyone is, and somehow, I\u2019ve landed the job of organizing the Silent Auction — no pressure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you’ve ever been to a family reunion, you know the real MVPs are the name tags and family trees. The question of the day is always, \u201cWho are you?\u201d It’s part guessing game, part scavenger hunt, and let\u2019s be honest, a little bit of detective work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This reminds me of John the Baptist. The Pharisees asked him the same thing: \u201cWho are you?\u201d (John 1:19). And John, being the straight shooter he was, started by saying who he wasn\u2019t. Eventually, he replied, \u201cI am the voice of one crying out in the desert\u201d (John 1:23).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God asks us the same question: \u201cWho are you?\u201d Not just our name, but who we are at the core. And often, we\u2019re quicker to list what we\u2019re not. \u201cI\u2019m not that talented. I\u2019m not the best. I\u2019m not enough.\u201d But God asks again because He wants us to see ourselves the way He does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, who are you? Let me remind you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are loved. God knew you before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are irreplaceable. He made you with unique gifts (Psalm 139:13-16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You belong. You\u2019re part of His family (Romans 12:5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\u2019re not Jesus, but neither was John. Still, like John, you can be a voice that points others to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, wear that name tag with pride. You\u2019re not just someone\u2019s cousin or distant aunt or uncle. You\u2019re a child of God, and that\u2019s something to celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m so glad I’m a part of the family of God; washed in the fountain; cleansed by His blood; joint heirs with Jesus as we travel the sod. I’m part of the family — the family of God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
