Aw! February — the month where love is on full display, from heart-shaped chocolates to mushy greeting cards. But today, love takes center stage for a far greater reason — my daughter, Staci Wallace, and my bonus son, Larry Wallace, are celebrating 28 years of marriage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy Anniversary, my loves! You are living, breathing examples of what happens when God is the first love of your marriage. How well you have displayed that love out loud and many other couples have taken your cue to love each other, and others, like Jesus loves! Carry on, good and faithful servants, as you continue to bring life and light to so many!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, to you and me! With all the warm fuzzies swirling around this \u201cLove Month,\u201d I can\u2019t help but wonder — are we just talking about love, or are we walking it out? God IS LOVE and the most important lesson He wants us to learn on earth is how to love.<\/p>\n\n\n

We say, \u201cI love you\u201d in the same sentence that we say, \u201cI love chocolate cake\u201d! We say, \u201cI love my neighbor\u201d in the same thought as \u201cI wish my neighbor would keep his kids off my lawn\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rick Warren says: \u201cLearning to love unselfishly is certainly not an easy task. It runs counter to our self-centered nature. That\u2019s why we\u2019re given a lifetime to learn it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God wants us to love everyone, but He particularly wants us to learn to love others in His family. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so awesome to be in the Family of God. Not because we are a \u201cclick\u201d or \u201cclub unto ourselves\u201d. It\u2019s because we resemble Jesus Christ. We act like Him. We talk like Him. We walk like Him. We forgive like Him. We LOVE like Him. That\u2019s why our character, being in His likeness, should speak volumes over those who don’t know or show this kind of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said, \u201cBy this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.\u201d (John 13:35)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love isn\u2019t learned in isolation. Oh no! God plants us right in the middle of cranky coworkers, difficult neighbors, and even those who have opposing political views — all to teach us what real love looks like. The world doesn\u2019t need more opinions; it needs a front-row seat to the kind of love that changes lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let\u2019s be love show-offs today. Let\u2019s make loving others our top priority, because at the end of the day, walking in love is what truly matters most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
