I know some folks raise an eyebrow when we say, \u201cGod said\u201d or \u201cGod spoke to me,\u201d but truth be told, our Creator is always sending messages — even if they’re not delivered via a dramatic thunderclap from above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my daily walk, His voice is more like a gentle whisper than an overwhelming shout. Sometimes it nudges me when I\u2019m wrestling with a tough decision or quietly reassures me in the pages of Scripture. Truth be told, that’s how most of my blogs are written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s as if I have a heavenly correspondent, offering advice in unexpected ways — like a well-timed comment from a friend or a chance solution to a dilemma on a billboard. His voice comes to everyone who seeks His counsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The challenge isn\u2019t that God is silent — it\u2019s that our world is so full of noise. Phones, TVs, and endless to-do lists can drown out His whisper. But when we set aside that clamor for a few moments of quiet, we catch those divine tidbits of guidance that often feel like the best advice we could ever receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I imagine Him saying, \u201cDonna, are you listening?\u201d And my mind is everywhere except for keeping my ears open to His voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And many times, we do hear but we’re just not obeying. We may be as guilty as our kids are when we’ve told them time and time again to do something — and they totally act like they never heard us. And, so often, the things we say to our children are the very things God wants us to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBe still.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m the parent and you’re the child — that’s why!” \u201cIf you had paid attention to me, you would have avoided that mess.\u201d \u201cTrust Me. I know what’s best for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bible, God’s love letter to mankind, makes it clear that we were created to have two-way communication with Him. Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So today, why not pause for a moment? Step away from the chaos and lean into that still, small voice. After all, there\u2019s no better conversation than the one we have with our Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dear God, please help us to be first responders to YOUR voice. May we tune in to YOUR frequency — whether it’s your still, small voice or your obvious loud and clear voice! Thank you for your patience as our loving Father! Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
