Politics. Social media. Even church parking lots. Tensions are performing at Olympic level these days — and not always with grace or sportsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Jesus wasn\u2019t vague when He said, \u201cStand up for me against world opinion and I\u2019ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven\u201d (Matthew 10:32, MSG Bible). That\u2019s not just a call — it\u2019s a commissioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honestly, I\u2019m doing my best to be a steadfast believer in God and His plans for our country and this world — but I\u2019ll admit, the constant negativity and noisy rhetoric wear me down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some days, I find myself slipping into whining and lamenting more than I\u2019d like to admit. So, how do we stand up without standing on people? It starts with what we\u2019re standing on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, a national survey showed that while 62% of Americans claim to be \u201cdeeply spiritual,\u201d only 16% base their decisions on what God\u2019s Word says. The rest? \u201cWhatever feels right,\u201d \u201cwhatever\u2019s best for me,\u201d or \u201cwhatever keeps Uncle Milton from starting another political debate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when we let Scripture shape our worldview, something changes. We become steady in chaos, kind in conflict, hopeful when others are hardened. We don\u2019t bury our heads or start arguments — we live out truth with grace, courage, and holy confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AND\u2026.we pray. God\u2019s Word always triumphs meanness, unkindness, nasty rhetoric and hate-filled agendas. Let\u2019s choose God\u2019s ways and be THE LIGHT that this world needs. Let\u2019s be God\u2019s people who do this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This kind of courage isn\u2019t loud or angry. It\u2019s rooted. It doesn’t run. It stands — firm, yet gentle and kind and full of light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, whether it\u2019s politics, relationships, or whatever the news cycle throws next — stand on truth. Stand with love. And most of all, stand up for Jesus — because He\u2019s standing up for you and me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
