Our Women\u2019s Bible Group speaker called it \u201cThe Distraction of Busyness.\u201d But what she gave us was a deeply stirring message about waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Waiting. That word alone can stir up a mixture of impatience, anxiety, and sometimes — if we\u2019re honest — frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She shared familiar Biblical names: Abraham and Sarah waiting for a promised child. Moses waiting 40 years on the backside of the desert. David anointed as king but waiting in caves and chaos until the crown was his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then there’s us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Waiting on red lights that seem to never turn green.
Waiting on doctors to call us in.
Waiting in the \u201cquick\u201d checkout line that turns into the slowest crawl of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether it’s traffic, test results, or life itself — it\u2019s clear: waiting is inevitable. So why are we shocked when waiting on God takes time, too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead of making waiting our enemy \u2013 let\u2019s give our angst and weariness to God because His timing is perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isaiah 40:31 says: \u201cThose who wait on the Lord will renew their strength\u2026 they will run and not grow weary\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Psalm 27:14 encourages us: \u201cWait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart take courage…\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But what do we do while we wait?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our speaker didn\u2019t leave us empty-handed. She handed us some tools for the in-between:
\u2022 Invite the Holy Spirit — the Spirit of Truth — into our restless moments.
\u2022 Lean into the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.
\u2022 Worship God Who sees the end from the beginning and knows what\u2019s best for us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And when the weariness rises? We place our waiting — all of it — into the Spirit\u2019s hands. We let Him hold us steady when we feel like our dreams are unraveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because here\u2019s the promise:
The wait will end.
And when it does, what unfolds will be far greater than what we rushed toward. Sometimes God\u2019s answer is \u201cyes,\u201d sometimes \u201cno,\u201d and often, \u201chold on — I\u2019ve got a plan that will not disappoint.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, to every heart in the waiting room of life, don\u2019t give up. Don\u2019t go ahead of God. Wait well. Your story isn\u2019t stuck \u2013 it\u2019s being written!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
