I want to live this life with gusto. Strong and long! I want to soak up every sunrise, laugh till I cry, and love hard and well. But this life? It\u2019s just a blink compared to the forever that awaits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s no secret that the “Survivor” TV show is one of my favorites and its slogan: “Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.” is the strategy that might cause the “Survivor” to win the million bucks and a title. But eternity? Now that\u2019s the real prize. And there\u2019s no tribal council that can vote us out of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rick Warren wrote in “The Purpose Driven Life”: \u201cEarth is the staging area, the preschool, the tryout for your life in eternity. It is the practice workout before the actual game.\u201d Amen and amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This life is preparation. And when we really grasp that truth, we start to live differently. Our priorities shift. We stop fussing about the chipped nail polish or the appointment we missed. Why? Because in the light of eternity — it just won\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve whispered that phrase more times than I can count. Especially when conversations get a little too heated over who’s the best driver or the winner of Mahjong or the often annoying politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re going to spend a whole lot more time in heaven than we ever will on this side of glory. So maybe it\u2019s time to adjust the radar. What seems like a BIG DEAL down here? Likely won\u2019t even show up as a blip on heaven\u2019s screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI Can Only Imagine\u201d isn\u2019t just a beautiful song — it\u2019s a mindset. A longing. A reminder that our real home is still ahead. And with every passing year, that hope becomes even more precious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So let\u2019s keep living with eternity on our minds. Let\u2019s stop sweating the small stuff. And let\u2019s remember, with joy in our hearts and heaven on our radar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
