Let\u2019s be real — God didn\u2019t place us on this Earth to binge-watch TV or think only of ourselves. He created us with purpose. For partnership. For good works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ephesians 2:10 says it plainly:
\u201cFor we are God\u2019s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isn\u2019t that something? Before we took our first breath, God had already mapped out a beautiful plan — uniquely suited to us. Our gifts, our quirks, our stories — they\u2019re not accidents. They\u2019re divine assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the catch — we\u2019re not meant to do it alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I think of someone living this out, I think of my Carl. (BTW — he urged me to not use him as an example — but he’ll get over it!) That man was made for good works, and he delights in every one of them. His dear friend, overwhelmed by illness and the burden of maintaining a large home, decided to downsize. Carl stepped in — not out of duty, but out of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He offered support in navigating so many things to do to make his friend’s life more comfortable. He helped with packing boxes, finding a buyer for his washing machine and dryer, helping him get his car repaired, and made sure his friend had warm meals and good company. Where his friend had been weak, Carl helped him be strong. He found a true friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carl became the hands and feet of Jesus, offering strength where there had been exhaustion. The result? His friend found rest. And Carl found joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, \u201cTwo are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.\u201d In other words, teamwork makes the Kingdom work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re all stronger, lighter, and a whole lot more grateful when we pull together. Like the old Sunday School song says:
\ud83c\udfb5 \u201cWhen we all pull together, how happy we\u2019ll be\u2026\u201d \ud83c\udfb5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So whether we\u2019re raising children, delivering meals, volunteering, praying, or helping a friend move — let’s do our part. God doesn\u2019t need us to do it all. Just to do our part — with love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when we work together, we become living proof of God\u2019s goodness. And that, my friends, is the kind of good work that changes the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
