I Will Not Let God Go
\u201cI will not let you go unless You bless me.\u201d Genesis 32:26<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now that\u2019s a bold thing to say when we’re locked in a wrestling match — with God, no less!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s exactly what Jacob did. God had already promised him blessings — land, family, influence, legacy — the works! But before those blessings showed up in full, Jacob had to go through a long night of struggling. Have you had nights like that? Struggling, I mean. I sure have!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacob didn\u2019t give up. Even limping and weary, he clung to God and said, \u201cI will not let You go unless You bless me.\u201d And God did. Because Jacob was persistent, desperate — and ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe you\u2019re in your own wrestling season. Maybe you\u2019ve been begging for blessings with a bruised heart, an aching back, or a timeline that feels way too slow. I\u2019ve been there too, friend. You\u2019re in good company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the joy of it: God\u2019s blessings are worth the struggle. They come wrapped in lessons, laced with grace, and timed with perfect wisdom. Sometimes we ask, \u201cLord, why the wrestling?\u201d And His answer is often, \u201cBecause I\u2019m building you into someone who can carry what I\u2019m giving you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our \u201ctests\u201d aren\u2019t punishment — they\u2019re preparation. Faith gets stronger, prayer gets deeper, and trust gets stickier when we refuse to let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ephesians 1:3 says, \u201cPraise be to the God\u2026 who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.\u201d Every. Spiritual. Blessing. That\u2019s a whole lot of goodness with your name on it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So today, instead of resenting the wrestle, let’s rejoice in it. Hang on tight with joyful expectation. God isn\u2019t stingy. He delights in blessing His children. And those blessings? They\u2019re not just for someday — they\u2019re showing up daily, often in unexpected ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Take a breath. Whisper a prayer. Maybe even laugh at the irony of wrestling with the One who loves you most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then say what Jacob said: \u201cLord, I\u2019m not letting go. I know You\u2019ve got blessings coming — and I\u2019m here for it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
