The one with the pristine planner, color-coded everything, and hair that somehow is always in place. But I promise you, even they have a junk drawer, a regret, or a broken something they’re hiding.

To err is human. To expect perfection? Exhausting.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with striving for excellence. God loves a cheerful worker and a wholehearted effort. But perfectionism? That’s a different story. That’s the little voice in our heads that says, “You’re not enough,” when we mess up — or heaven forbid — forget the casserole for the church potluck.

Oh, but we have a permission today! We don’t have to get it all right! Set the bar high, sure — but we don’t beat ourself up when we miss it. We fix what we can, make amends if needed, and then we leave the rest in the hands of the Perfect One — our Heavenly Father.

The Apostle Paul, who wrote half the New Testament, didn’t claim to have it all figured out either. He said:
“I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead…” (Philippians 3:13-14)

Translation? I’m not perfect. But I’m pressing on anyway. And friend, so should you.

God’s not looking for flawlessness. He’s looking for faithfulness. He’s not grading us on our ability to keep every dish unchipped or every emotion tidy. He’s asking us to keep showing up — with a humble heart and a willing spirit.

So let’s ditch the pressure, shake off the shame, and laugh a little more when life gets messy. We are precious in God’s sight — not because we’re perfect, but because we are His.

Now go grab that to-do list, spill a little grace on it, and remember:
You are loved. You are chosen. You are wonderfully imperfect.
And that, my friend, is perfectly okay.

Let’s just go ahead and say it: no one is perfect.
