I don\u2019t usually invite worry over for coffee. I\u2019m more of a \u201cblue skies ahead, God\u2019s got this\u201d kind of gal. But every now and then, that pesky Worry Wart sneaks in like it owns the place. It doesn\u2019t knock. It doesn\u2019t ask permission. It just plops itself down, right next to my peace, and starts whispering nonsense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It starts small — an odd ache, a tight budget, a tiny dent on Carl\u2019s car from a boulder I may have misjudged. And suddenly, the Worry Wart pulls out a megaphone: \u201cWhat if it\u2019s serious? What if it\u2019s expensive? What if you\u2019re falling apart and taking the car with you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know better. Truly, I do. I\u2019ve written blog after blog about trusting God. I\u2019ve stood in faith with my boots laced high and heart lifted. But sometimes, even prayer warriors get ambushed at midnight by a runaway train of anxious thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s when I remember: peace isn\u2019t a product of perfect circumstances. It\u2019s the fruit of a focused mind — stayed on Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaiah 26:3 says, \u201cYou will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You.\u201d
And Luke 12:25 brings it home: \u201cCan any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So when the Worry Wart shows up, I head straight to my hiding place — under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). There, God doesn\u2019t scold. He soothes. He lifts the weight, smooths the wrinkles, and says, \u201cBe still and know that I am God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friend, peace isn\u2019t denial. It\u2019s a decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s be peace carriers. Wart-evictors. Jesus-trusters. Let\u2019s trade in our anxiety for assurance and let the only One strong enough to hold the world\u2026 hold us, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
