My Safe Place is smack dab in the green pastures where God always soothes my soul and gives me daily ideas for yet another blog. Most days, folks read the words, smile (hopefully), and carry on with their day. Occasionally, I get a \u201clike\u201d or a heart and let me tell you — those little clicks feel like someone brought me fresh flowers!
And sometimes, others make positive comments that give me an adrenaline rush to push through another day \u2013 with a big smile attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And, then there are those who read one of my blogs and they don\u2019t just disagree — they drive their point home with criticism or sarcasm. \u00a0I\u2019ll admit it — I delete those comments. Not because I\u2019m afraid of disagreement, but because this little online safe place home of mine — whether it’s Facebook, my Blogger.com or my blog at MyPeaceZone.com \u2013 is my sacred ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve learned that sometimes the best answer is no answer at all. Jesus taught us that. He didn\u2019t engage every mob. He didn\u2019t throw stones when others expected Him to. He brought peace to chaos, and that\u2019s the blueprint I choose to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This space is a safe place — for kindness, encouragement, and truth spoken in love. I don\u2019t wear rose-colored glasses, but I choose to see life through the lens of hope. My \u201cGood Ship Lollipop\u201d outlook? That\u2019s not denial — it\u2019s decision. I\u2019ve decided to believe in beauty, even when the world looks bleak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These spaces are my safe place, my comfort zone and my place of retreat \u2013 it\u2019s the same space at my home or on my online discussions.
I tend to think that\u2019s what Jesus did when He walked away from the angry mobs or when He simply picked up a stone when the adulterous woman was caught in the act of adultery. He showed love and empathy and that\u2019s what I choose, too!
So yes, I\u2019ll hold the door wide open to anyone who comes in peace — regardless of how different we may see things. But swords of bitterness and meanness? Those get checked at the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Romans 12:18 reminds us: \u201cIf it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.\u201d<\/em> That\u2019s the goal here. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness — those are always welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let\u2019s build each other up, not tear each other down.
