I come from a long line of go-getters\u2026 and yet, I was the kid hiding behind my mama\u2019s coat-tails. I wasn\u2019t loud, didn\u2019t play sports, and wouldn\u2019t dare raise my hand unless I was really sure of the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But somehow, God gave me a family full of people who don\u2019t just show up to the game — they show up to win. Board games? Competitive. Fishing? Fierce. Family reunion pickleball? Don\u2019t let the smiles fool you \u2013 it is a combat zone to be the big winner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They love the thrill. Me? I love being the sideline photographer and team cheerleader. Nobody\u2019s elbowing me for that spot, thank you very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But recently, I saw a billboard for a Sleep Number mattress that said: \u201cThis isn\u2019t your bed — it\u2019s your competitive edge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oh, that slogan preached. Apparently, the NFL partners with Sleep Number to help players sleep smarter so they can perform better. Makes sense. Rest isn\u2019t lazy, it\u2019s preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that got me thinking.
We\u2019re in a daily battle too. Not for trophies or title belts, but for peace, purpose, and people we love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John 10:10 tells us the real opponent:
\u201cThe thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy — but I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s our edge right there: Jesus.
He equips us with truth, wisdom, and spiritual muscle through His Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The enemy isn\u2019t scared of our family game night win streak — but he is scared of believers who know who they are, whose they are, and what weapon they carry: the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So yes, competition can be fun. But in this life, the only real battle worth winning is the one for our faith, our family, and our future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve already got the winning edge.
Romans 8:31 reminds us: \u201cIf God is for us, who can be against us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our real competition isn\u2019t each other — it\u2019s the enemy. But good news: we\u2019ve got the edge, the armor, and the scoreboard already says \u2018VICTORY”!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
