Yes! It’s Father’s Day — for all remarkable, loving, guiding, mentoring and cheering dads and men who show up as role models for those in your sphere of influence. That includes my dear Carl and our sons, Ryan Wuerch, Larry Wallace and Terrell Gates!<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re sure to hear a Father\u2019s Dad message at our churches today. Let\u2019s be honest — Father\u2019s Day sermons usually go something like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKing David was a man after God\u2019s own heart!\u201d True. But\u2026 can we also talk about the fact that he wasn\u2019t exactly \u201cDad of the Year\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David wrote beautiful psalms and slayed giants, but when it came to his kids, he went silent. He didn\u2019t speak up when he should have, didn\u2019t correct, mentor, or guide when it mattered most. It\u2019s a sobering reminder to be intentional about victories at home.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then there\u2019s Adam — the first father. We\u2019re still cleaning up that apple incident, and don\u2019t get me started on the Cain and Abel backyard barbecue gone terribly wrong. Where was Dad? Probably over in the fig leaves section, acting like nothing happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David slayed giants — but dropped the ball at home. Adam named animals\u2026 but missed the sibling fight of the century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But before we roll our eyes at ancient fathers, let\u2019s ask: \u201cWhat kind of legacy are fathers leaving today?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dads, we ALL need you. Not just to mow lawns or lift heavy things (though we appreciate that too), but to show up — spiritually, emotionally, consistently. Our children don\u2019t need perfection. They need your presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They need you to speak life when the world tears them down.
To show up in the stands, even if it\u2019s just tee-ball.
To be their safe place, their steady hand, their example of grace and grit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proverbs 20:7 says, \u201cThe righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.\u201d Dads, your integrity is your legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Father\u2019s Day, don\u2019t settle for \u201cgood enough.\u201d Step up. Speak out. Be the kind of father that future generations will thank God for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And hey, if you ever feel like you\u2019ve messed up — remember this: God is the ultimate Father, full of mercy and fresh starts.

Dads, you may not get a parade today, but your legacy will outlive you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy Father\u2019s Day to the real MVPs: Mentors, Visionaries, Protectors. Your good and loving influence can last a lifetime and beyond!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
