He kept bouncing up and down on the pew, clearly auditioning for the Olympic trampoline team. After four stern warnings and the look<\/em>, mama finally got him to sit still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But when she glanced over a few minutes later, he had the biggest grin plastered on his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat are you smiling about?\u201d she whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And with the grit of a miniature champion, he whispered back, I laughed when I first heard it and realized that\u2019s the way I can be a conqueror. For the little guy \u2013 it wasn\u2019t just a mischievous moment \u2014 that\u2019s a spiritual truth<\/em>. Because life, like that mama, will try to make us sit down. Sit down in discouragement. Sit down in fear. Sit down because \u201cthat\u2019s just the way it is now.\u201d But the Spirit of the Living God inside us? He doesn\u2019t sit down. Not ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the days when I felt knocked down, worn thin, or just too tired to stand on my own, I didn\u2019t keep going because I was strong. I kept going because He<\/em> stood up in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When my prayers were whispers, the Spirit interceded. Jesus said, \u201cThe Advocate, the Holy Spirit\u2026 will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.\u201d<\/em> (John 14:26)<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, when the world says: \u201csit this one out,\u201d I say — stand anyway<\/em>. Stand in grace. Stand in truth. Stand in quiet confidence because the Spirit is standing in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You may be knocked down, but you\u2019re not out. With the Spirit of God alive in you \u2014 you\u2019re still standing. Keep going. When hope slipped through my fingers, He handed me heaven\u2019s anchor.
