Today, July 2nd, my #4 grandson in birth order \u2014 turns 21. That\u2019s right. Brennan is officially stepping into the world of adulthood, full stride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\u2019s a business student at the University of Texas, following in the footsteps of his dad, and likely headed toward the family business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But long before boardrooms and spreadsheets, there were baseball diamonds and bedtime stories. I cheered him through little league and high school games. I watched him take the mound at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. And now, I watch with pride as he leans into his future \u2014 a future that includes his fianc\u00e9e, the lovely Kylie, and a wedding on the books for June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\u2019s always been a delight \u2014 full of antics, jokes, and that \u201cSuper Brennan\u201d imagination that he and I cultivated in bedtime stories with his brother Bryson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And we\u2019ve had some of the best Nana-and-Brennan talks, too. Once, he asked how he\u2019d know when he was really in love. I told him, \u201cYou\u2019ll know when you can\u2019t stand not being with them.\u201d Turns out, I was right. (Take notes, folks \u2014 Nana still knows a thing or two!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But as much as I could go on about my Brennan \u2014 this blog is about more than just him. It\u2019s about all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because no matter your age or season, the real question is this: What does the future hold?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We don\u2019t have that answer. But we know Who does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor I know the plans I have for you,\u201d declares the Lord… (Jeremiah 29:11)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brennan is a mighty man of God \u2014 loving big, living bold, and walking with purpose. And that\u2019s the invitation for all of us: to live each day with eternity in mind, but our feet firmly planted in today\u2019s assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serve well. Love big. Laugh often. Live on purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And remember \u2014 whether you\u2019re 21 or 81 \u2014 your story is still being written by the Author of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Turning 21 is big \u2014 but trusting the One who holds your future is even bigger. Happy birthday, Brennan! Live with purpose, love loud, and never forget who holds the pen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
