It started with a sky dive. Kristina Vinberg \u2014 fearless, full of fire, and determined to conquer whatever came her way \u2014 leapt from a plane for her 26th birthday. Giddy. Grinning. Free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That video said everything about her: she faced fear, clung to her tandem partner\u2019s strength, and flew through the air with joy. That was Kristina\u2019s life. Even when the winds raged \u2014 pain, loss, illness, cancer \u2014 she trusted the One who held her safely in tandem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I first met Kristina over a decade ago in Seattle. My son Ryan and bonus daughter Shawntel had moved there, and Kristina became their boys\u2019 beloved nanny. But she was far more than a caregiver. She was a big sister to our grandsons, a trusted friend to our family, and a woman of unshakable faith. When she wasn\u2019t available to watch the boys, I got the call \u2014 \u201cNana, can you come?\u201d And I did.<\/p>\n\n\n

Our family adored her. She had a way of commanding both love and respect, and her life spoke volumes about perseverance and purpose. Through accidents, grief, and diagnoses \u2014 Kristina stood tall. And when she met her husband Steve, and they welcomed a beautiful daughter, her joy only deepened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days ago \u2014 on Steve\u2019s birthday \u2014 Kristina\u2019s assignment here ended, and her homecoming in heaven began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But oh, what a finish line to cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her little girl who calls Ryan \u201cPops\u201d and Shawntel \u201cTawn Tawn\u201d now has a heavenly mother cheering her on from streets of gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To those grieving \u2014 whether from floodwaters, illness, or quiet, private losses \u2014 may Kristina\u2019s story breathe hope into your soul. Because death has lost its sting (1 Corinthians 15:55). And freedom? It\u2019s not just skydiving over the landscape. It\u2019s flying into the arms of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 118:5 says, \u201cIn my anguish I cried to the Lord, and He answered by setting me free.\u201d Kristina is free. And one day, we will be too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So today, let\u2019s declare it:
No more fear.
No more pain.
