Here in Denver — our friends took us to lunch at a lovely spot called \u201cThe Jacquard\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food was divine, the service top-notch, and the view \u2014 beautiful. But what caught my attention wasn\u2019t on the menu — it was on the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I gasped, \u201cLook at those shelves and shelves of books!\u201d I was smitten. White, crisp, clean spines lined up in perfect symmetry. A reader\u2019s dream!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn\u2019t help myself. I walked over, reached out to touch them — but felt nothing but flatness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hosts laughed at me. \u201cIt\u2019s wallpaper,\u201d they said. Wallpaper. Not books. Not even fake books. Just the illusion of books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And tada! There it was \u2014 a message from heaven: \u201cNot everything is as it seems\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever believed something so strongly that no one could convince you otherwise? Maybe it was about a person\u2019s motives, a news story, a fear, or even how you saw yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, the things we think are true — aren\u2019t. And the things we doubt — turn out to be the most real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.\u201d \u2014 Proverbs 14:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, our eyes and emotions can be deceiving. That\u2019s why we need truth that doesn\u2019t peel like wallpaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s Word is the only thing that never changes. His promises are not an illusion. His love isn\u2019t wallpaper. It\u2019s deep, rich, and real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if life has you staring at something that looks permanent or painful \u2014 look closer. Ask God for truth. What we assume might not be the whole picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What looked like a library turned out to be wallpaper. Not everything is as it seems \u2014 but God\u2019s truth is always the real thing. God\u2019s Word = Truth and He is the Way, the Truth and the life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
