The phone rings. A telephone solicitor asks the young boy who answers, \u201cCan I speak to your mother?\u201d
\u201cShe\u2019s outside,\u201d the boy replies.
\u201cWhat about your father?\u201d
\u201cHe\u2019s outside, too.\u201d
\u201cWell\u2026 who is there?\u201d
\u201cThe police.\u201d
\u201cThe police?! Why?\u201d
\u201cThey\u2019re helping my mom and dad find me\u2026 I\u2019m hiding in the closet!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That dear mama nearly fainted \u2014 until she found out her little rascal was playing a joyful (and heart-stopping) game of hide-and-seek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The parents were shaken. The police were kind. And the boy? Just having the time of his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yet, isn\u2019t that a picture of us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes we go missing, not realizing we\u2019re lost. We duck behind distractions or hide in our own closets of pride, shame, or rebellion \u2014 all while our Father is searching with relentless love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus told us in Luke 15:6, \u201cRejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Luke 15, Jesus shares three parables \u2014 the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son \u2014 all with one theme: God never stops seeking the ones who wander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe you\u2019re praying for a loved one who\u2019s lost. Not physically, but spiritually. Maybe they\u2019ve turned from God \u2014 or slowly drifted away without even realizing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\u2019ve cried. You\u2019ve waited. You\u2019ve wondered if they\u2019ll ever come home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But take heart. Luke 19:10 reminds us: \u201cThe Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s His job. And He\u2019s very, very good at it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like those officers who responded to that frantic call, Jesus is always on the move \u2014 ready to rescue, restore, and rejoice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You may not see it yet, but He knows exactly where your loved one is. He\u2019s not done. And neither are you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing in the power of the Good Shepherd to bring them home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, give us faith to believe that no one is beyond Your reach. Thank You for never giving up on the lost \u2014 and for finding us, time and time again. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
