Help for an Ice Cream-oholic!
I scream. You scream. We all scream… well, you know the rest!
My lifelong affair with ice cream began with a hand-cranked peach delight my dad used to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That creamy sweetness was followed by a chocolate fudgesicle ritual every Sunday night after church. And then came the ice cream truck. That jingle still makes my inner child leap with joy. I was hooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe you\u2019re right there with me. You, too, might be an ice cream-oholic if:
\u2022 You know more flavors than Crayola has crayons.
\u2022 You eat ice cream when you\u2019re happy. And sad. And bored. And celebrating.
\u2022 You\u2019ve swapped dinner for a double scoop — more than once.
\u2022 And when you travel, you don\u2019t just see sights — you taste scoops (hello, my friends in Montreal Canada and my friends in Rome, Italy with your delectable gelato!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s just something about that frozen swirl. It soothes sore throats, heals heartbreak, and brings back every beautiful memory of summer days and simpler times. Ice cream is cold comfort in a cone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the spiritual scoop:
Psalm 119:103 says, \u201cHow sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.\u201d And Psalm 34:8 reminds us, \u201cTaste and see that the Lord is good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When was the last time we savored God\u2019s Word like we do a sundae? When His name is mentioned — do we light up like a kid at the sight of sprinkles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Truth is, we\u2019ve got something far better than a freezer full of Blue Bell. We\u2019ve got the Giver of every good gift. He invites us not to just taste\u2014but delight in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s be a little obsessed. Let\u2019s crave His presence, hunger for His truth, and spread His love like whipped cream on a banana split.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s scoop out smiles, sprinkle kindness, and maybe — just maybe — offer a friend a little encouragement — and a bowl of ice cream.
Because delighting in Him never melts away \u2013 and BONUS \u2013 no calories added in His presence!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
