Carl and I have reached that golden age where extra lighting is more necessity than luxury — especially in the early morning hours when we\u2019re reading the Word together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other day, while clearing out my dresser drawer (you know, that one where everything gets tucked away for \u201clater\u201d), I found two little battery-operated light switches I hadn\u2019t used in years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, I popped in some new batteries, and whoa-la — those babies lit up the room like the 4th of July! Then there was light — bright light!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That moment got me thinking — how many of us walk around with a spiritual light switch we\u2019ve forgotten about? We\u2019ve got access to the “Light of the World” and yet sometimes we fumble around in the dark, squinting at life\u2019s fine print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, \u201cYou are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.\u201d Not \u201cyou might be\u201d or \u201con your good days,\u201d but you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just about receiving light from the Lord — it\u2019s about radiating it. At home. At work. In traffic. In long grocery store lines behind someone with a full cart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:15 to \u201cshine like stars in the sky\u201d in a crooked and warped generation. That doesn\u2019t mean we need to shout from rooftops, but it does mean we live so full of God\u2019s love that people squint a little when we walk in the room — not from our spotlight, but from His.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living lit-up lives isn\u2019t about being perfect — it\u2019s about being plugged in. Connected to the power source. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of spiritual batteries — prayer, time in the Word, a quiet moment in His presence — and click, the light floods back in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So today, wherever you are, flip the switch. Don\u2019t underestimate your glow. Somebody nearby is trying to read their own story, and your light might help them see it more clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?\u201d (Psalm 27:1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s brighten the corner where we are — with His love, His Word, and maybe even a portable light switch or two!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
