We grandmothers are a special breed. We carry tissues in our purses, candy in our pockets, and a prayer list that\u2019s longer than a CVS receipt. And at the very top of that list? Our grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, I am also acknowledging you dear loving and adoring mamas who love so deeply — even before grandparenting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve all prayed over their first cries and college choices. We\u2019ve worried over everything from screen time to friend groups to the baffling question of \u201cWhat are they doing RIGHT NOW?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But on Monday, in our Grandmothers\u2019 Monthly Prayer Group, we felt a gentle whisper from heaven: \u201cLeave it in God\u2019s hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now don\u2019t get me wrong. We\u2019re not walking away. We\u2019re not abandoning ship. We\u2019re just letting the Captain steer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leaving it in God\u2019s hands doesn\u2019t mean we stop caring. It means we start trusting. Trusting that He sees what we can\u2019t. That He hears what they won\u2019t tell us. That He knows their hearts, even when they\u2019re a little lost or stubborn (or both). Trusting that He loves them even more than we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Psalm 139 tells us that God knows our babies inside and out. Before they even speak a word, He knows what they\u2019re going to say. He\u2019s the ultimate GPS, gently rerouting them when they veer off course.
So yes, we keep praying. But we also keep letting go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We release the worry that keeps us up at night.
We lay down the guilt that says, \u201cMaybe I should\u2019ve done more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We stop gripping the steering wheel of their lives with white knuckles — and we hand it over to the One who carved their names on the palm of His hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He sees. He knows. He protects. He loves them fiercely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So today, dear friends, whatever you\u2019re carrying for your children and grandchildren — leave it. Gently. Prayerfully. Completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leave it in God’s hands. And then maybe go treat yourself to a latte, a pedicure, or a quiet moment of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After all, we\u2019ve prayed. We\u2019ve poured. Now we trust. Let\u2019s leave our precious ones in the hands of the One Who loves them even more than we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
