I read this promise yesterday and it stopped me in my tracks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God and are careful to follow all His commandments — all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.\u201d \u2014 Deuteronomy 28:1-2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Did you catch that? God says His blessings will overtake us! That means they don\u2019t just trickle in; they come running after us. It\u2019s like being chased down by goodness and mercy. What a picture!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the key: our part is to listen and obey. Doesn\u2019t sound too unreasonable, does it? He isn\u2019t asking for perfection — just a heart that says, \u201cYes, Lord, I\u2019ll follow You.\u201d We do our part, He does His. Simple partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trouble is, sometimes we want the blessings without the obedience. We want the overflowing joy, the peace, the provision, but we\u2019d like to skip over the \u201cfollow My commandments\u201d part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet God knows obedience isn\u2019t about control \u2014 it\u2019s about protection. Just like a parent says, \u201cDon\u2019t touch the hot stove,\u201d our Father says, \u201cTrust My ways. They\u2019ll keep you safe and bring you joy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And let\u2019s be honest: who doesn\u2019t want the kind of blessings only God can give? Not the ones we manufacture on our own strength, but the ones that chase us down when we\u2019re walking in step with Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So today, I\u2019m purposing in my heart to obey. Not out of duty, but out of love for the One who has never failed me. I want to live in such a way that my life says, \u201cLord, I hear You \u2014 and I trust You enough to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s lace up our spiritual running shoes, friends, because blessings are on the way \u2014 and they\u2019re about to overtake us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
