Don\u2019t you just love those \u201caha\u201d moments? That\u2019s what I experienced when I read this scripture:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAre you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?\u201d At that time Jesus cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits; He also granted sight to many who were blind. And Jesus said to them in reply, \u201cGo and tell John what you have seen and heard.\u201d \u2014 Luke 7:20\u201322<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There it is. It doesn\u2019t really matter what we say if our actions don\u2019t back it up. Whoa! That\u2019ll make you sit a little taller when you think about the old phrase, \u201cActions speak louder than words.\u201d Jesus didn\u2019t just say, \u201cYes, I\u2019m the One.\u201d He proved it with His life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My husband Carl would tell you I\u2019m never at a loss for words. I come from a long line of talkers. In fact, I gave birth to talkers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My Ryan and my Staci can hold their own in the communication department. If there\u2019s an Olympic medal for speaking — my two could bring home the gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the kicker: Jesus didn\u2019t win people over by eloquent speeches. His critics tried to trip Him up in word games, but His actions told the whole story. The blind saw, the lame walked, the dead lived. That was proof enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When John the Baptist\u2019s followers came with their question, Jesus didn\u2019t hand them a brochure or a clever slogan. He said, \u201cGo tell John what you\u2019ve seen and heard.\u201d In other words \u2014 the evidence is right in front of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The truth of Jesus\u2019 identity wasn\u2019t revealed by what He claimed. It was revealed by how He lived, how He loved, and how He gave His life. His resurrection sealed the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So\u2026what about us? Are we just talkers or are we doers? Words matter, yes \u2014 but actions carry the weight. May our lives show the truth of what we believe: burden bearers, caregivers, encouragers, hope-givers. Because at the end of the day, actions speak much louder than words!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s live out what we believe today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
