One of the greatest joy stealers in our lives is worry. Worry sneaks in like a thief, sets up camp in our minds, and before we know it, our peace has packed its bags and left the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God knows this about us \u2014 that\u2019s why He reminds us again and again: \u201cDo. Not. Worry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus didn\u2019t just suggest it politely. He said it emphatically in Matthew 6:25\u201327:
\u201cTherefore I tell you, DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR LIFE. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love how Jesus lays it out: Worry doesn\u2019t help! We can chew on our fingernails, toss and turn all night, make a color-coded chart of every possible outcome \u2014 but at the end of the day, worry doesn\u2019t add a single hour to our lives. If anything, it takes them away!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then Jesus gives us the best visual aid ever \u2014 the birds. They don\u2019t clock in at 8 a.m., they don\u2019t have retirement plans or 401(k)s. Yet, every single day, they\u2019re fed. Why? Because their Creator provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, here\u2019s the good news: we are of more value than the birds. If God takes care of them, how much more will He take care of us? That\u2019s His promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So maybe today, instead of wringing our hands, we lift them up in praise. Instead of rehearsing all the \u201cwhat ifs,\u201d we lean into the \u201cGod will.\u201d And maybe \u2014 just maybe \u2014 when that old worry tune starts playing in our heads, we hum a different one: \u201cDon\u2019t Worry, Be Happy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because peace isn\u2019t found in perfect circumstances. It\u2019s found in trusting the One who holds every circumstance in His hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWorry steals joy, but trust restores peace. Remember: If God feeds the birds, He\u2019s got us covered too! \ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
