My sweet husband thrives on fellowship \u2014 whether it\u2019s church on Sunday, Bible study during the week, going out to eat with friends or gathering at a house church where 50\u201375 people crowd in for a meal, music, testimonies, and the joy of being together. For him, the more the merrier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But really, Jesus was the first to model this when He broke bread with His disciples. Fellowship was never about food alone (though I admit, food does make the memories sweeter). It was about celebrating Him \u2014 His life in us and our life in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scripture says it beautifully: \u201cThey devoted themselves to the apostles\u2019 teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer\u2026 They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.\u201d (Acts 2:42, 46)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then there\u2019s the power of agreement. Jesus said in Matthew 18:19\u201320: \u201cIf two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.\u201d That\u2019s not just a polite promise \u2014 that\u2019s a binding agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe it\u2019s my 40+ years in real estate talking, but I can\u2019t help seeing prayer of agreement like a contract. Once signed and sealed, it\u2019s a done deal. When two believers (or a husband and wife) join hands and pray, God Himself is the third signature on the line. That\u2019s a contract with eternal backing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, the enemy does everything possible to push us into dis-agreement. He knows if he can divide us, he can discourage us. But when couples, families, or friends humble themselves, lay down pride, and come together in prayerful agreement, mountains move, rivers part, and heaven\u2019s resources are released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So let\u2019s live as \u201cagree-ers,\u201d not \u201carguers.\u201d Let\u2019s watch God use our prayers of agreement to heal, provide, and transform. Because nothing \u2014 absolutely nothing \u2014 is impossible when two gather in His name and agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
