That\u2019s quite a promise, isn\u2019t it? Some days it feels like anxiety and fear are tailgating us while goodness and mercy got stuck at the last stoplight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But life has taught me something — goodness and mercy don\u2019t always walk beside us with balloons and confetti. Sometimes they trail quietly, like a faithful shadow we don\u2019t notice until we look back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve lived long enough to know what it\u2019s like to be swallowed by loss, disappointment, and heartache. You probably have too \u2014 broken dreams, empty chairs at the table, waiting rooms filled with uncertainty. In those seasons, we wrestle with questions: Is God really good? Does He really care?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet over and over, grace shows up. It\u2019s in a friend who sits and weeps with us. In a neighbor who drops off dinner. In the strength to get out of bed one more day. It\u2019s the courage to keep breathing when the weight feels unbearable. Little by little, we discover that goodness and mercy have been there all along, just not always waving flags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love how grace can turn our scars into lanterns. The places we once thought would break us become the very stories that comfort someone else. Our valleys can become road signs pointing others toward hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So maybe today is a good day to grab a pen \u2014 even if only in our hearts \u2014 and underline the moments of goodness and mercy in our own story. The unexpected kindness. The strength we didn\u2019t think we had. The prayer that felt unanswered at first but ended up being God\u2019s protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We may not call every season good, but we can trust that God will call good out of every season. One day, when we glance over our shoulder, we\u2019ll see it: goodness and mercy have been following us the whole way home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When life feels heavy, turn around \u2014 you might spot goodness and mercy quietly trailing behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
