I\u2019ll admit it \u2014 I love reality talent shows. America\u2019s Got Talent is one of my favorites. Ordinary people \u2014 all shapes, sizes, ages \u2014 step onto a stage, risk rejection, and dare to shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This season, one singer stopped me in my tracks: Jessica Sanchez, a radiant, very pregnant 30-year-old with a powerhouse voice and a contagious smile. But what moved me most was her backstory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica first auditioned at age 10 \u2014 and didn\u2019t make it. She left feeling crushed, rejected, a \u201cfailure.\u201d For twenty years she fought doubt, struggled to find her voice, battled discouragement\u2026 and then came back. Pregnant. Fighting hormones. Singing with a baby pressing against her diaphragm. And she won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s grit. That\u2019s courage. That\u2019s refusing to let the voice of defeat have the last word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because let\u2019s be honest \u2014 we all hear those voices.
\u201cYou\u2019re too old.\u201d
\u201cYou\u2019ve failed before.\u201d
\u201cYou\u2019re weak.\u201d
\u201cGive up.\u201d
\u201cYou\u2019ll make a fool of yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus named the source of those whispers: \u201cWhen [the devil] lies, he speaks his native language\u2026 he is a liar and the father of lies.\u201d (John 8:44). Every \u201cyou can\u2019t\u201d he throws your way is a neon sign pointing to what God says you can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truth sounds different. Truth says:
\u201cWith God nothing is impossible.\u201d (Luke 1:37)
\u201cI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.\u201d (Philippians 4:13)
\u201cNo weapon formed against you will prosper.\u201d (Isaiah 54:17)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Creator didn\u2019t design you to quit. You\u2019re wired to persevere. Age doesn\u2019t cancel your purpose. Past mistakes don\u2019t void your calling. Broken dreams don\u2019t mean the story\u2019s over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica\u2019s word for her journey was surrender \u2014 letting go of fear and leaning fully on God\u2019s strength. That\u2019s where the real winning begins: not in proving we\u2019re enough, but in trusting that He is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if you\u2019ve been tempted to wave the white flag, here\u2019s your reminder: Don\u2019t. Quit. Now. God\u2019s not finished. His arm is strong. His Spirit fills you. The enemy says \u201closer,\u201d but Heaven calls you beloved, bold, and more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep showing up \u2014 you\u2019re not finished yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
