I\u2019m a knower. I know a lot of things.
I know I\u2019m not the sharpest tool in the shed (but I can still hammer out a decent blog post).
I know I\u2019m not winning any \u201cbeauty queen\u201d trophies.
I know my muscles don\u2019t flex quite like they did when I was twenty \u2014 and that\u2019s okay because elastic waistbands are God\u2019s kindness to us in our later years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s what I know most of all \u2014 and it\u2019s the anchor of my life: God loves me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t try to talk me out of it. I\u2019ve seen too much. I\u2019ve lived through too many moments that could only have been His hand at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Times when the provision came just in time, the comfort arrived when I was breaking, the answer whispered into the silence when I didn\u2019t know what to do. So many times I\u2019ve looked up and said, \u201cThat was You, wasn\u2019t it, Lord?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I know He sees me \u2014 right here, right now \u2014 not a younger, shinier version, but me, with laugh lines, gray hair under my blonde coiffure, and a heart that still longs to follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And dear friends, He sees you too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The world measures worth by resumes, social media likes, bank accounts, and who\u2019s still got a flat stomach after 50. God doesn\u2019t. He isn\u2019t impressed by our zip code, family name, or wardrobe size. His love isn\u2019t performance-based. It\u2019s permanent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSee what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!\u201d (1 John 3:1). Lavished. Not rationed. Not doled out if we\u2019ve behaved. Lavished \u2014 poured out without holding back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I know this….
When we feel invisible\u2026 He sees us.
When we feel like a failure\u2026 He calls us His.
When life has knocked the wind out of us\u2026 He is still handcrafting every detail of our beautiful future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If we only \u201cknow\u201d one thing today, let’s know this: We are loved \u2014 wildly, deeply, unconditionally \u2014 by Almighty God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And if that doesn\u2019t amaze us yet, let’s just wait. His love will keep showing up \u2014 in unexpected ways, on ordinary days, in laughter and in tears. He\u2019s not done writing our stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What I know for sure: I am seen. You are seen.
I am loved. You are loved.
And…..how awesome it is to know that truth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
