<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nThose songs weren\u2019t just cute tunes \u2014 they were declarations of truth. We sang them at breakfast, in the car, and sometimes loud enough for the neighbors to hear. (Apologies to anyone trying to nap!) But the message stuck: God had a plan, and these kids were walking promises.<\/p>\n\n\n

We didn\u2019t allow the words \u201cI can\u2019t\u201d in our house. Nope \u2014 those were off-limits. \u201cI can\u201d were God\u2019s words, so they had to be ours. It wasn\u2019t always easy. There were days of forgotten homework, broken curfews, and peanut butter fingerprints on freshly cleaned walls. But we kept speaking life over them \u2014 words from Philippians 4:13, Luke 1:37, and Romans 8:37 \u2014 \u201cYou can do all things through Christ\u2026 Nothing is impossible with God\u2026 You are more than conquerors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward a few decades, and those little voices have grown into powerful, faith-filled adults who are impacting the world in ways that still make me stand in awe. One leads with compassion and vision; the other carries wisdom and strength that inspires everyone in their circle. Both continue to walk out the promises that were sung into their hearts all those years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parents, grandparents, teachers, mentors \u2014 our words matter. Whether your children are in diapers or discussing retirement plans, keep reminding them of who they are in Christ. You\u2019re investing in eternal stock \u2014 the kind that never loses value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deuteronomy 11:18\u201319 reminds us:
\u201cFix these words of mine in your hearts and minds… Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So keep speaking life. Keep singing truth. Keep reminding your children (and yourself) that you are a promise, a possibility, and something very special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because God doesn\u2019t make ordinary \u2014 He makes originals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
