Sometimes I laugh when I think about how God pursues us. He\u2019s like the world\u2019s most loving detective \u2014 no detail too small, no distance too far, no hiding place too clever. We can keep playing hide n’ go seek, but eventually we\u2019ll look over our shoulder and realize — He\u2019s right there all along, smiling, waiting, arms wide open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We chase a lot of things in this life \u2014 goals, success, the perfect parking spot at HEB. But God? He chases hearts. He pursues us not because He needs us, but because He wants us. Imagine that \u2014 the Creator of galaxies and oceans is after our heart! Talk about being \u201cwanted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes His pursuit feels like a gentle tug \u2014 a sunrise that catches our breath, a song lyric that hits home, or that still, small voice reminding us that we\u2019re not forgotten. Other times, it\u2019s a little louder \u2014 like a closed door, a rerouted plan, or a divine interruption that says, \u201cHey, I\u2019m here. I\u2019ve got better for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
King David knew this kind of pursuit when he wrote, \u201cSurely Your goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.\u201d (Psalm 23:6). That word \u201cfollow\u201d actually means \u201cto chase down.\u201d God\u2019s mercy is not strolling behind us \u2014 it\u2019s sprinting after us like a loving Father calling out, \u201cDon\u2019t run from Me, run to Me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here\u2019s the best part \u2014 God\u2019s pursuit isn\u2019t about punishment, it\u2019s about partnership. He doesn\u2019t chase us to corner us; He chases us to cover us. He wants to walk with us, talk with us, and show us what real love looks like \u2014 every day, in every ordinary moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, if life\u2019s been noisy, and you feel like you\u2019ve wandered off the path a bit, just pause. Listen. You\u2019ll hear Him \u2014 in the laughter of a friend, in the quiet of morning coffee, even in that unexpected peace that says, \u201cYou\u2019re mine, and I\u2019m not letting go.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We can’t outrun grace. He’s pursuing us to love us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
