When I read about Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen saying his goal was to \u201cmake Heaven crowded,\u201d I wanted to stand up and cheer from my recliner. What a rally cry! Forget winning the World Series — he\u2019s talking about the eternal one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love that heart. I’m sure he’ll take the fame, trophies and headlines — but what I see is him wanting the people in his life — teammates, fans, even the hot-dog vendors — to know Jesus. That\u2019s a mission worth more than any championship ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It got me thinking: if a professional ballplayer can use his platform to share God\u2019s love, what\u2019s stopping the rest of us from swinging for the same fences?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We may not have ESPN microphones in our faces, but we have something even better — daily encounters with souls who God treasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making Heaven crowded isn\u2019t about preaching from a pulpit. It\u2019s about living in such a way that others want what we have. It\u2019s the smile we give the weary cashier, the prayer whispered for a neighbor, the text that says, \u201cI\u2019m thinking of you today.\u201d It\u2019s inviting someone to church, sharing our story of grace, or simply saying, \u201cFriend, you matter to God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we love people like that, Heaven takes attendance — and angels start scooting over to make room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I sometimes picture it like this: when my time comes and I walk through those pearly gates, I want to hear cheering — not because of what I\u2019ve done, but because some folks are there who might have said yes to Jesus after a conversation or a blog post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s my goal: to live so that eternity gets a little more crowded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, \u201cLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, let\u2019s shine, friends. Let\u2019s make Heaven the most over-booked, joy-filled, standing-room-only place ever imagined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
