One of my favorite reality shows is The Amazing Race. I love watching teams zigzag across the world chasing after a million-dollar prize. They\u2019re running through cobblestone streets in Paris, hiking up steep mountains, or solving clues inside magnificent old churches. I sometimes forget it\u2019s a competition because I\u2019m too busy admiring the view!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it got me thinking \u2014 aren\u2019t we all in a kind of race? Not one for prize money or fame, but one that\u2019s far more rewarding. Some of us are sprinting to reach goals; others are pacing ourselves, trying not to trip over life\u2019s hurdles. And yet, how often do we forget to enjoy the journey \u2014 the majestic mountains, the breathtaking views, the people we\u2019re running beside?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Apostle Paul talked about this kind of race in 1 Corinthians 9:24: \u201cRun in such a way as to get the prize.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He wasn\u2019t talking about a trophy or a million-dollar check. He meant the eternal prize \u2014 a life well-lived, faith well-kept, and a finish line that ends in heaven\u2019s open arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I sometimes imagine heaven\u2019s crowd as the ultimate cheering section \u2014 all the saints and angels shouting, \u201cKeep going! You\u2019re almost there!\u201d Maybe even balcony men and women cheering from above!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, life\u2019s race can be exhausting. We get turned around, hit traffic jams of disappointment, or run out of breath climbing those spiritual hills. But the beauty is this \u2014 we\u2019re not running alone. Jesus runs with us, setting the pace and showing the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And oh, what a finish line awaits! What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s the real Amazing Race. And the prize? Eternity with the One who cheered us on the whole way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Life\u2019s not just an amazing race \u2014 it\u2019s an amazing grace. Keep running, keep believing, and don\u2019t forget to enjoy the view!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
