Goodness gracious. Have you noticed lately how some of our grown-up leaders are acting like kids on a playground \u2014 tossing words like dodgeballs and shouting, \u201cYou\u2019re not my friend anymore!\u201d? Mercy! It makes me want to unfriend the whole bunch of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back in the day, \u201cunfriending\u201d someone meant scratching their name out of your notebook or writing a \u201cDear John\u201d letter. Now, with one little click, poof! \u2014 gone from your feed and your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don\u2019t usually unfriend people; I just quietly unfollow them. (I like to think of it as holy self-preservation.) Some folks\u2019 posts are like lemon juice in a paper cut \u2014 too sharp for my peace of mind. But I still hope they\u2019ll swing by my page once in a while and maybe catch a little Light in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The truth is, relationships are messy \u2014 whether online or in person. People fail, disappoint, and push our buttons. They rant. They rage. They forget their manners and their filters. And I\u2019ll be honest, sometimes I\u2019d love to hand out divine time-outs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then I hear that still, small Voice reminding me: \u201cI will never unfriend them \u2014 or you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That stops me in my tracks every time. Because if I were God, I\u2019d have hit \u201cunfriend\u201d on the human race long ago. Yet our Heavenly Father refuses to click that button. He proved it once and for all when He stretched out His arms on a cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGreater love has no one than this: to lay down one\u2019s life for one\u2019s friends.\u201d \u2014 John 15:13<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus didn\u2019t unfriend Peter when he denied Him or Thomas when he doubted Him \u2014 and He\u2019s not about to start with us. He loves us, knows us, and sticks around anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So maybe today, before we scroll, post, or judge, we can whisper a prayer: \u201cLord, help me love like You \u2014 the Friend who never logs off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because no matter how the world acts, heaven\u2019s Friend Request still stands \u2014 and it\u2019s already accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God never hits \u201cunfriend.\u201d He loves us, flaws and all \u2014 and that\u2019s the kind of friend I want to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
