I\u2019ll confess \u2014 I can be a bit of a squirrel chaser. Not the fuzzy-tailed kind, but the mental kind. One moment I\u2019m writing about God\u2019s goodness, and the next I\u2019m wondering if I forgot to pay THAT bill, or what I should wear to the wedding! Yes — another wedding is on the horizon! My thoughts can dart around faster than a toddler on a sugar high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when I finally slow down \u2014 Bible open, heart quiet, — peace settles in like a soft blanket. That\u2019s when I sense Him near. God doesn\u2019t need fancy words or polished prayers. He just wants me \u2014 fully present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s when it hits me! I get frustrated when someone\u2019s half-listening to me mid-conversation while scrolling through their phone, how must God feel when I do that to Him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve been on both sides of that awkward moment \u2014 the one sitting there, singing \u201cAll By Myself\u201d while someone checks their notifications\u2026 and the one doing the checking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve all been there, haven\u2019t we? Somewhere along the line, we traded eye contact for screen time and depth for distraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the same God who created galaxies still leans in, hoping for our undivided attention. I can almost hear Him whisper with a loving chuckle, \u201cExcuse Me, child \u2014 could we talk before you check your messages again? I\u2019ve got a few secrets to share and plans to give you for your good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus modeled this beautifully. \u201cVery early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went to a solitary place, where He prayed.\u201d \u2014 Mark 1:35<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even the Son of God scheduled quiet time with His Father. No alerts. No distractions. Just communion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So maybe it\u2019s time we silence the noise, set the phone aside, and return to the One who\u2019s been patiently waiting to talk with us \u2014 not through a notification, but through His Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when we give Him our undivided attention\u2026 He gives us His unmatched peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heaven\u2019s waiting room doesn\u2019t need Wi-Fi. God\u2019s whisper is best heard when we put the phone down and tune in to His heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
