I still remember my grade school glory days \u2014 me, a blank coloring page, and my prized 64-pack of Crayolas. Oh, the smell of wax and potential!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I might not have been Michelangelo, but give me a steady hand and I could color within the lines like a pro. Let\u2019s just say, if there\u2019d been trophies for \u201cBest Use of Sky Blue,\u201d I\u2019d have cleared the shelf!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fast-forward many decades, and staying \u201cwithin the lines\u201d isn\u2019t as easy. Life has a way of smudging, scribbling, and spilling outside the borders. But here\u2019s what I\u2019ve learned: God isn\u2019t grading us on neatness. He\u2019s creating a masterpiece \u2014 and, believe it or not, we\u2019re it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor we are God\u2019s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus\u2026\u201d \u2014 Ephesians 2:10<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, I\u2019ll be honest. Some days I feel less like a masterpiece and more like a half-finished doodle \u2014 maybe one a kindergartener started before snack time. I\u2019m not perfect. I mess up, miss the mark, and occasionally scribble right over someone else\u2019s joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that\u2019s where grace comes in. The Apostle Paul, the same man who wrote most of the New Testament, said, \u201cI don\u2019t understand what I do!\u201d (Romans 7:15). That\u2019s me, too \u2014 especially when I walk into the kitchen determined to eat healthy and walk out with a cookie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paul figured out the secret: the bridge between failure and freedom is grace. Grace doesn\u2019t erase our mess; it turns it into art. It\u2019s God saying, \u201cI can work with that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So maybe today, instead of trying to color perfectly, we just color faithfully \u2014 with joy, courage, and use every crayon God\u2019s handed us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we mess up, we pick up the next color and keep going.
Because God isn\u2019t looking for perfection; He\u2019s painting redemption.
And when He\u2019s done, our lives \u2014 smudges, streaks, and all \u2014 will tell the most beautiful story of all — Amazing Grace, drawn by the Master Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t worry about coloring inside the lines \u2014 God\u2019s grace covers the smudges. We’re His masterpiece in progress!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
