If there were ever a season that calls for a different spirit, it\u2019s Christmas. And no, I don\u2019t mean the decorating-till-midnight kind of spirit (although that can be fun). I\u2019m talking about the spirit God pointed out in Numbers 14:24 when He said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed Me fully\u2026\u201d
Caleb didn\u2019t blend in.
Caleb didn\u2019t cave.
Caleb didn\u2019t tremble at giants or bow to bad news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Caleb believed God \u2014 fully, boldly, joyfully \u2014 and God said, \u201cI\u2019m bringing him into the land.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aw — to be that kind of person in December — in a world that\u2019s stressed, hurried, negative, fearful, overbooked, and under-rested.
To be the one who carries peace into Walmart, joy into traffic, and faith into rooms filled with doubt \u2014 that\u2019s a different spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joshua and Caleb were the minority report. While others said, \u201cWe can\u2019t,\u201d they said, \u201cWE CAN \u2014 because God is with us!\u201d (Numbers 13:30)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s the same spirit we need as Christmas lights glow, calendars fill, and the world tries to tell us we\u2019re not enough, can\u2019t make it, can\u2019t overcome, can\u2019t do Christmas right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But people of faith? We take the \u201cL\u201d out of world \u2014 literally \u2014 and we get Word instead.
God\u2019s Word. God\u2019s promises. God\u2019s presence.
God\u2019s peace wrapped tighter than any ribbon under the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because here\u2019s the beautiful truth:
A different spirit dances in the rain.
A different spirit smiles in the dark.
A different spirit walks in victory before the battle is even won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And during the Christmas season, that different spirit shines brightest. Remember \u2014 the whole story of Christmas is built on people who lived differently:
Mary said yes to the impossible.
Joseph believed the unbelievable.
Shepherds ran toward glory.
Wise men followed a star.
Heaven broke open for ordinary people who had extraordinary faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So this Christmas, let\u2019s carry the spirit of Caleb \u2014 bold, joyful, faith-filled, ready for whatever God calls \u201cpossible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s be the ones who say, \u201cLet\u2019s go! God is with us \u2014 and we are well able!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because with that different spirit living inside us, the victory isn\u2019t just likely — it\u2019s guaranteed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
