On the little shelf outside our apartment door, I change out a bit of d\u00e9cor each month — nothing fancy, just something meant to encourage passersby by giving my voice to faith and calm in a noisy world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This January, I placed a simple sign that reads: \u201cI don\u2019t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That little sign may be small, but oh my — it speaks loudly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We live in a world that feels unsteady. Politics swirl. Voices rise. Tempers flare. Headlines break our hearts with stories of needless loss and deep hostility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And if I\u2019m honest, there are moments when I look heavenward and wonder, \u201cLord, why don\u2019t You step in and straighten this mess out?\u201d Surely God could use one giant paddle and turn wrong-doers into right-doers in a hurry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But God\u2019s ways have always been higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:8\u20139) His wisdom stretches beyond what we can see, and His patience accomplishes what force never could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What comforts me most is this truth — God is not wringing His hands. He is not surprised. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and knows every detail of today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scripture reminds us, \u201cThe Lord goes before you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.\u201d (Deuteronomy 31:8) And again, \u201cAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.\u201d (Romans 8:28)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don\u2019t always understand how God is working things out — but I don\u2019t have to. That\u2019s His job, not mine. My calling is to trust, to pray, to stand firm in faith, and to live with hope when others feel hopeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That little sign outside our door does exactly what I hoped it would — it pauses the rush. It whispers reassurance. It reminds anyone who reads it that while the future may feel uncertain, it is firmly held in the hands of a faithful God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So today, let\u2019s rest easy. Let\u2019s release tomorrow into the care of the One who already inhabits it. We may not know what the future holds but we know Who holds the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that — is more than enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
