Not since 1980.
Forty-six long winters. Generations born, raised, and grown who had never seen Team USA men\u2019s hockey strike Olympic gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then \u2014 yesterday morning \u2014 it happened. Overtime.
1:41 on the clock.
A puck kissed the net and history exploded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were in full exultation mode when that final shot hit. The kind of joy that makes you forget you\u2019re sitting in your own living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There he stood \u2014 Jack Hughes \u2014 cracked-tooth smile, blood on his lips, hair soaked with sweat, the American flag draped across his shoulders like a warrior\u2019s cape. Gold medal resting against a chest that had just carried a nation\u2019s hope.<\/p>\n\n\n

Coach Mike Sullivan said it best: \u201cHe brought his very best when the stakes were the highest.\u201d
That\u2019s championship language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two brothers. Two game-winners.
Quinn Hughes and Jack Hughes, proud brothers, proud Jewish Americans, and even prouder to represent the USA \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Canada.

The \u201cGolden Goal\u201d \u2014 46 years in the making \u2014 sealed a 2\u20131 overtime win over Canada at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
The first gold since the Miracle on Ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when his brother Quinn Hughes said, \u201cThat guy is not nervous, I want to be that guy,\u201d I felt chills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because that\u2019s what winners do. They don\u2019t shrink in overtime. They lean in.
Doesn\u2019t that preach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We serve a God who specializes in overtime victories. Seasons may stretch. Droughts may last decades. But when Heaven steps onto the ice, the score changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romans 8:37 says: \u201cIn all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than conquerors.
Not barely survivors.
Not hopeful participants.
Champions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The enemy may think he\u2019s skating toward an easy win. But we\u2019re on the winning team. Our Captain has never lost a final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forty-six years felt long.
But victory was always coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when that puck hit the net, it felt like more than a goal \u2014 it felt like a reminder to us:
Stay in the game.
Trust your Coach.
When overtime comes — don\u2019t panic.
